Andrew Vicknair was admitted to practice law in Louisiana and in Texas in 2003. He was licensed before the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a patent attorney in 2003. In 2009, Mr. Vicknair was admitted to practice law in New York.
He graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in both Electrical and Biomedical Engineering. Prior to entering law school, Mr. Vicknair worked as a software engineer for a major medical manufacturer and as an electrical engineer for a major chemical manufacturer. While working full time, Mr. Vicknair attended law school part time in the evening. In 2002, Mr. Vicknair graduated from Loyola Law School (J.D., 2002) and is now a partner of the firm.
Mr. Vicknair is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association, the New York Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association, the Intellectual Property Law Section and Construction Law Section of the New Orleans Bar Association, the Intellectual Property Law Section of the Louisiana State Bar, and the Intellectual Property Law Section of the Texas State.
Mr. Vicknair’s primary practice areas include all phases of intellectual property including litigation, prosecution, and transactional matters. Mr. Vicknair handles all aspects of patent, trademark, and copyright litigation; and prosecution of U.S. patent applications, trademark applications, and registration of copyrights with the United States Copyright Office. In addition, Mr. Vicknair handles the drafting and negotiation of intellectual property agreements, such as licensing issues, contracts, non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements. Mr. Vicknair also practices in commercial litigation and construction litigation and including construction defect claims, payment claims, claims of subcontractors, claims of owners, and claims of general contractors.
Mr. Vicknair lectures in intellectual property law topics, including trademarks, patents and copyrights, and also lectures on construction law topics, including Louisiana lien law and general Louisiana construction law.
Admitted to practice before all state courts in Louisiana, New York, and Texas; all federal district courts in Louisiana, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Vicknair is also admitted as to the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a patent attorney.
