Norman Mott has represented management and employer interests in labor law, labor relations, civil rights, wage/hour, immigration, OSHA, ERISA and other employer-employee relations matters since 1976. Since 2004 he has also taught Labor Law at Loyola University College of Law. While in law school Norman served on the Board of Editors of the Mississippi Law Journal. Mr. Mott has successfully represented employers in over 100 union organizing drives. He has successfully handled both class action and individual employment discrimination suits in federal and state courts, and has worked with large and small employers in developing personnel practices designed to achieve the employer’s business goals including maintaining their union-free status.
Norman has also published numerous articles on employment law matters including: ”Pre-Hire Agreements in the Construction Industry: Void or Enforcement Labor/Management Obligation?,” 52 Mississippi Law Journal 705; and “An Analysis of the Mississippi Criminal Code Under the Equal Rights Amendment,” 47 Mississippi Law Journal 279. Norman also regularly speaks on labor and employment law topics. Norman also writes an employment law blog for employers and labor law students http://nolaemployers.blogspot.com/, and is a regular contributor to the firms blog on this web site.
Admitted to practice before all courts in Louisiana and Mississippi and in the United States Supreme Court and the United States Courts of Appeal for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits.
